[announcement] Our Featured Speakers for AAPIP’s National Philanthropy Summit

Posted by Gladys Malibiran on Monday, September 13th, 2010

Carol Larson has led the David and Lucile Packard Foundation as the President and CEO since January 2004, and this year began her tenure as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Council on Foundations. Prior to joining the Foundation in 1989, as Director of Research and Grants, Law and Public Policy, Ms. Larson was a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of O’Donnell and Gordon. Her longstanding leadership in the field and the Foundation’s partnership with AAPIP have been critical in efforts to develop and expand the capacity of our communities. We are pleased she will be joining us at the Summit and in celebrating AAPIP’s 20th anniversary. To learn more about Carol Larson, click here.

Gara LaMarche joined The Atlantic Philanthropies as President and CEO in April 2007, and leads the organization through its final chapter as the foundation disburses its remaining endowment and active grantmaking by 2016. Prior to joining Atlantic Philanthropies, Mr. LaMarche served as Vice President and Director of U.S. Programs for the Open Society Institute. He is recognized in the field for his leadership and commitment to social justice philanthropy, and we are delighted that he will join the Summit to share his observations about AAPIP and Building Democratic Philanthropy. To learn more about Atlantic Philanthropies institutional commitment to social justice, view this clip. To learn more about Gara LaMarche, click here.

Ms. Larson and Mr. LaMarche will lead off the Summit program which will include remarks from Danielle M. Reyes, Chair of the Board of Directors for AAPIP and Program Officer, Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation, as well as from Peggy Saika, President/Executive Director of AAPIP.
