Announcing New Staff Positions

OAKLAND, September 2, 2015 – Cora Mirikitani, President and CEO of AAPIP, today announced the appointment of two new senior staff positions that will work with the president and the Interim COO, Lori Kodama, to support the organization’s current needs and future growth.  They are:

Noelle Ito, Vice President, Programs

Noelle joined AAPIP in 2011 as the Senior Director of Community Philanthropy, leading AAPIP’s National Giving Circle Campaign.  She previously worked as the Director of Development at the Little Tokyo Service Center in Los Angeles and at the BronxWorks in New York City as the Director of Donor Relations.  In her capacity as V.P. Programs, Noelle will have responsibility for coordinating and connecting AAPIP’s diverse incubation, research and community philanthropy program areas to maximize shared learning and increase overall program impact.  Learn more about how Noelle is thinking about her new role.

 

Cynthia Choi, Vice President, Philanthropic Partnerships

Cynthia joined AAPIP in 2006 and has served as a national project director, senior director and deputy director for the organization, drawing on her experience in immigrant/refugee rights, reproductive justice and environmental justice.  Prior to joining AAPIP she was a Program Officer and Regional Manager at The California Endowment and served as the board chair of The New World Foundation.  In her capacity as V.P. Philanthropic Partnerships, Cynthia will oversee AAPIP’s partnerships with institutional funders and members and develop cross-cutting strategies and projects that advance AAPIP’s role as an effective partner for, and advocate to, AAPI philanthropy.  Learn more about how Cynthia wants to build partnerships.
