The Philanthropy Associate provides research, project management and event planning for Lever for Change. This position requires project management experience, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including ultra-high net worth individuals and families.

This position is part of a small team responsible for the qualification, cultivation and stewardship of prospects and donors at the major gift level. The successful candidate should be committed to Lever for Change’s mission of inspiring, empowering and connecting people to accelerate social change.

Job Description: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct research to assist with the identification of qualified donors
Track all key donor development information and maintain records, reports, and dashboards in Salesforce so that the team can track progress to goals and related KPIs
Help with maintaining relationships with donor prospects and intermediaries (wealth and philanthropic advisors)
Produce high-quality presentations and communications for donor partners and investors from pre-existing content
Support/manage conferences and matchmaking convenings, including content development
Create curated lists of projects in response to donor requests
Proofread written materials carefully, providing alternate text where appropriate
Collaborate with others to leverage opportunities, build awareness and meaningful engagement with donors
Complete other projects as assigned


Minimum of a BA/BS
Two years of professional experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Positive “can-do” attitude and a willingness to do what is necessary to get the job done
Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to follow tasks through to completion in a timely manner
Able to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines
Able to take initiative and work proactively
Excellent and effective interpersonal skills in working with colleagues at all levels; able to use discretion and maintain confidentiality; cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work diplomatically with diverse constituencies
Technologically savvy
Able to create and update content through content management systems
Able to work collaboratively in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Salesforce (or other CRM software)
Experience in delivery of boutique services to demanding clientele
Start-up experience
