Job Description

The Program Manager for New Mexico (NM) Programs offers an extraordinary opportunity to drive progress of the Southwestern Team’s place-based grantmaking work both internally within WKKF and externally with grantees. The role will provide exposure to the inner workings of philanthropy, opportunities to improve upon grant making processes and strategies, and opportunities to steward relationships with grantees and the communities they serve. The Program Manager will support and engage with Program Officers in their work to leverage the Foundation’s dollars for maximum positive impact for children, families, and communities.

YOUR POTENTIAL IMPACT

The primary function of the Program Manager is to support grant making, grant management, and grant program evaluation through:

Enhancement of relationships among the Foundation, grantees, and partners

• Liaise between Program Officers and grantees to support program alignment, integration, and learning opportunities.
• Proactively respond to and engage with grantees to support grantee engagement and support.

Project Management support in administration of grants in the New Mexico portfolio

• Research, analyze, and identify data to inform grantmaking decisions.
• Monitor overall grant status and contract due diligence for the New Mexico portfolio.
• Provide issue resolution and technical support to grantees and senior programming staff.

The Program Manager’s work and the work of the Program team at the Foundation ensures WKKF is distributing its funds efficiently and effectively to communities and organizations supporting the conditions for thriving children and families in areas of health, education, and economic security.

Job Qualifications

Success in the Program Manager role will require a passion to further the WKKF’s mission and a commitment to core values of diversity and inclusion, intercultural awareness, openness, collaboration, and stewardship. The ideal candidate will also possess the following professional abilities, attributes, and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; master’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.

• Minimum three years of project management experience in a professional setting; some foundation or nonprofit experience preferred.
• Passion and commitment to supporting vulnerable communities including an appreciation for Southwestern context, a historical understanding of relationship nuances and power dynamics, and an understanding of social, racial, and ethnic realities in the Southwest.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines within designated timeframes, as well as demonstrated technical expertise in project management systems; strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute ideas for enhancing performance.
• An optimistic outlook and the humor, integrity, and patience necessary to work within a transformative environment.

Salary range is $69,800 – $87,300. Actual starting salary of candidate will be commensurate with years, breadth, and depth of relevant experience, education, certifications, credentials, special skills, accomplishments, and other factors relevant to the position.
