On August 24, AAPIP and CHANGE Philanthropy co-hosted a webinar featuring the Bay Area Justice Funders Network (BAJFN) which shared highlights from “The Choir Book: A Framework for Social Justice Philanthropy,” with participants from the Harmony Initiative, and members of the BAJFN network. Alexander Saingchin, Program Director of the Common Counsel Foundation, shared some effective strategies to aligning donors with the priorities of social justice movements. Elaine Mui, Grants and Operations Manager of the General Service Foundation, shared how to streamline grantmaking practices to minimize the burden placed on grantees. Sara Velten, Vice President at the Latino Community Foundation, shared how the deepening of relationships allowed them to grow a giving circle to more than 500 members.
