Alice Y. Hom

Alice Y. Hom, the Director of the Queer Justice Fund, is responsible for the philanthropic advocacy for LGBTQ AAPI communities and issues and the design and implementation of QJF BRIDGE, a capacity building program focusing on LGBTQ and ally AAPI organizations. 

Previous to AAPIP, Alice was the founding Director of the Intercultural Community Center at Occidental College, where she focused on issues of diversity and social justice.  She has worked in the arts and humanities field during her time at the Getty Information Institute and the Getty Research Institute.Alice has a long history of community involvement on a range of issues including the arts, education, health, and philanthropy and AAPI & LGBTQ communities. Most recently, Governor Jerry Brown appointed her to the Cal Humanities board. She has served on the boards of the following organizations: the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, Visual Communications, Great Leap, June Mazer Lesbian Archives, and APAIT.

Alice holds a B.A. from Yale, M.A. in Asian American Studies from UCLA, and a Ph.D. in History from Claremont Graduate University.

In her spare time, Alice likes to catch up on reading graphic novels, comics, mystery books, and nonfiction titles as well as making crafts from felt.
