Thank you for your interest in attending a Dine Around as part of our pre-convening activities. This year, our Dine Arounds will be held at the following locations and with the following community organizations:
- Tang Pavillion (Chinese, 65 W. 55th Street at 5th and 6th Avenue) with RAISE – RAISE (Revolutionizing Asian American Immigrant Stories on the East Coast) is a pan-Asian undocumented youth-led group on the East Coast. It aims to create safe spaces in our communities while advocating for humane immigration policies.
- New Topaz Thai (Thai, 127 W. 56th Street at 6th and 7th Avenue) with GAPIMNY and The API Project of PFLAG NYC – GAPIMNY (Gay Asian Pacific Islander Men in NY) is an all-volunteer, membership-based community organization that provides a range of political, social, educational, and cultural programming. It works in coalition with other community organizations to educate and promote dialogue on issues of race, sexuality, gender, and health. The API Project of PFLAG NYC is a new initiative to provide support for LGBTQ youth and families of Asian heritage, foster inter-generational dialogue and address culturally specific needs of the API community.
- Benares (Indian, 240 W. 56th Street at 7th and 8th Avenue) with Arab American Association of NY – Arab American Association of NY’s mission is to support & empower the Arab American and Arab immigrant community in NYC. They are a multi-service agency while being at the forefront of the fight against Islamaphobia.
- Fuji Sushi (Japanese, 238 W. 56th Street at 7th and 8th Avenue) with Minkwon Center for Community Action and Pilipino American Unity for Progress – Minkwon Center for Community Action runs APA VOICE, a voting and organizing project to increase civic engagement. It is a collaborative effort across 15 organizations to increase civic engagement in New York’s Asian Pacific American community. Pilipino American Unity for Progress (Unipro) engages Pilipino students & young professionals as community leaders through its various programs, including APA Voice.
