[AAPIP Connect] Summer 2020 Edition

Publication Date:

Dear Philanthrofolk,

We thought the summer would be slower paced as we continue to shelter in place for the foreseeable future. We imagined a time to re-charge and rejuvenate after an intense start to the year (and the decade). Alas, exciting things keep happening that we are eager to tell you about so we are sending you this Summer Edition of AAPIP Connect.

First, read about the first-of-its-kind joint statement between AAPI CEOs and Trustees in support of Black communities and our colleagues, ABFE in their Call to Action to address anti-Black racism.

We're also very excited to release a new infographic in collaboration with CHANGE Philanthropy that draws on the findings of the 2018 Diversity Among Philanthropic Professionals (DAPP) Survey to explore Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) people in philanthropy. We'll soon be releasing more data during our upcoming webinar, "State of AAPI Philanthropy" webinar on September 14th - register now!

Our excitement continues as we welcome Lyle Matthew Kan, our new Interim Vice President of Programs. Please welcome him!

In June, AAPIP wrapped up its fiscal year. We reflect back on a busy and productive year in our FY 20 Report as we start a celebratory 30th anniversary year and the start of a new decade!

We thank you for being part of the AAPIP community and look forward to working with you in this new decade. In the meantime, we wish you a healthy and enjoyable summer!

In community,
