Doua Thor (Chair)

Doua Thor is Co-founder and Principal of GAEL Collective. Previously, she served as Chief Impact Officer at Everyday Impact Consulting (EIC), Vice President of Strategy and Influence at Sobrato Philanthropies, and as a political appointee in the Obama Administration, where she served as Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders during his second term.
She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from Wayne State University. Doua and her family were resettled in Detroit and are among the many thousands of Hmong refugees resettled in the United States after supporting and fighting alongside the U.S. during the Vietnam War.
