Established in 1990, AAPIP is a justice-minded, national philanthropy-serving organization that provides unique community spaces for AANHPIs and allies in philanthropy. As a membership-based organization, AAPIP centers equity and justice in philanthropy to move money and build power for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities and an inclusive democracy. Anchored by a national team, AAPIP works across the country through a chapter network as sites of regional activism serving as a bridge between philanthropy and local non-profit organizations. These chapters are centers for place-based advocacy, information sharing, leadership development, community building, and networking around AANHPI issues and philanthropy.
Job Description
As a valued member of AAPIP’s growing team, the Membership and Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day development operations including campaign management (membership drives, member/donor education, and support), gift and grants management, and will support stewardship and cultivation. In addition, the Membership and Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for supporting development processes related to conference sponsorships, registration and fees, and data management for the annual AAPIP Board elections. The position will report to the Interim Vice President of Partnerships and Communications.
This role is remote and will require travel for conferences and staff retreats.
Core Responsibilities & Impact
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Provide Day-to-Day Membership and Fundraising Operational Support:
- Maintain the timely activation and renewal of AAPIP’s 150+ member network including:
- Activating member renewal campaigns in a timely manner
- Sending and tracking invoices
- Supporting members to process online payments
- Conducting new member campaigns
- Processing incoming checks, EFT, online payments, and donor portal transfers
- Working closely with the Finance team to reconcile revenue statements based on current payments and pledges.
- Ensure that all data records in AAPIP’s CRM and digital files are updated accurately and timely – including correspondence with funders, donors, and members, and documenting payments and pledges.
- Provide responsive communication to our membership and stakeholders
- Support member requests and inquiries about AAPIP member benefits, including, but not limited to managing the member inbox, compiling and sending welcome materials, facilitating network connections, and posting to AAPIP’s job board.
- Solicit and maintain updated rosters for institutional members and their teams.
- Maintain updated language about member benefits on aapip.org, email communications, welcome materials, presentations, and other public-facing digital and print material.
- Draft development and membership communications such as, but not limited to, correspondence emails, print media, presentation templates, and gift acknowledgments.
- Represent AAPIP during webinars, meetings with members and stakeholders, and AAPIP events
- In conjunction with the VP of Partnerships, create monthly summaries for the President and quarterly summaries for the Board Membership committee including lapsed, new, and renewing members; and fundraising status toward annual goals.
Contribute to Fundraising and Donor Outreach Efforts:
- Coordinate the annual development calendar with the VP of Partnerships and Communications to ensure timely submission of LOI’s, proposals, reports, and all requests to meet funder requirements and grant compliance
- Assist in developing member and donor cultivation strategies, maintaining the member and donor pipeline, and maintaining accurate information on members, donors, and prospects
- Support preparation for funder meetings with funder/prospect information and research, messaging, and clear timelines
- Support the development organizational infrastructure
- Maintain web-based forms and systems needed for online payments and event registration ensuring that outward-facing messaging and internal systems and policies are aligned
- Regularly document database and development procedures and support cross training to ensure staff adoption and usefulness of the CRM and related development systems.
Support Conferences and Special Events:
- For AAPIP conferences:
- Manage registration.
- Track sponsorships and fulfillment.
- Provide logistical support for special events and conduct prospective member follow up.
Job Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years of development and/or membership experience.
- Working knowledge of and commitment to AANHPI communities, communities of color, and racial and social justice are a must.
- A solid understanding of and experience working in the philanthropic sector is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a membership or chapter-based organization is also strongly preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven success in coordinating fundraising campaigns and/or membership drives.
- Affinity for problem-solving by collecting relevant information, adapting and applying the learning for future tasks.
- Excellent written, speaking, editing, and research skills, including the ability to seek out and synthesize complex information from disparate sources.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and always exhibit a high level of discretion, diplomacy, and integrity.
- High level of relational awareness, emotional intelligence, and a community-oriented spirit, especially when engaging with current and prospective donors/funders/members.
- Top-notch project management (time management and organizational) skills.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and complete multiple tasks with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A self-starter who is also a collaborative team player, committed to excellence, open-minded, and demonstrates a growth mindset. Thinks creatively to solve problems, and works with a sense of humor and humility.
- Tech platforms and programs:
- Required:
- Experience with development databases is required. Experience with Neon CRM or a comparable CRM is highly desirable.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Slack, and Dropbox are required.
- Desired:
- Project management software like Asana or Monday.com and development tools like SurveyMonkey are a plus.
- Design and web skills in Canva, Adobe Creative, and WordPress are also a plus.
- Knowledge of social media as it relates to fundraising is also valued.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $65,000-$72,500 depending on experience. Benefits include full medical, dental, and vision.
