AAPIP Twin Cities Rapid Response Fund – GRANT APPLICATION

Priorities/Focus Areas

This Rapid Response Fund will prioritize AANHPI-serving organizations that are deeply rooted in the communities they serve and are responding to the urgent and evolving needs of our communities. Based on conversations with individuals and families directly impacted, as well as insights from community and philanthropic leaders, we are supporting organizations that are:

  • Meeting urgent, day-to-day needs: Organizations providing immediate support such as food, housing stabilization, transportation, health care access, and other essential services.
  • Providing legal support and protection: Organizations offering legal defense, due process support, rights education, and navigation assistance, particularly for individuals and families facing deportation orders.
  • Offering wrap-around and adaptive support: Organizations delivering holistic services such as know-your-rights education, mental health and wellness support, community safety planning, and other emerging or unmet needs as conditions evolve.
  • Working collaboratively within community ecosystems: Organizations that coordinate with partners and informal networks to ensure services are responsive and culturally appropriate — recognizing that deep collaboration during this moment is needed.

Grantmaking Allocation

Given that many AANHPI-serving organizations are responding to multiple, overlapping needs at once, grants will be disbursed based on community need, rather than predefined issue areas. Grantmaking decisions will be made by an Advisory Committee comprised of community-informed leaders and philanthropic leaders who will guide award decisions based on:

  • The urgency of community needs at the time of disbursement.
  • Equitable distribution over time, including attention to the diversity of AANHPI communities, geographies, and service approaches represented.
  • Emerging gaps or pressures identified through community and partner input.

This approach allows the Fund to remain responsive, flexible, and grounded in real-time conditions.
