Karey Cha

Karey brings more than a decade of experience supporting mission-driven organizations across the public and nonprofit sectors. With a background in operations, administration, and organizational management, she is passionate about building strong systems, supporting teams, and creating the conditions that allow organizations to thrive and maximize their impact.

Most recently, Karey served as Executive Director of the Hmong American Association of Colorado (HMAAC), where she led organizational strategy, operations, and community initiatives for Colorado’s longest-serving Hmong nonprofit organization. Prior to HMAAC, she built her career in local government administration, most recently serving as City Clerk for the City of Clovis, California, where she oversaw legislative administration, municipal elections, public records, and governance operations. Through her work in government and nonprofit leadership, Karey has remained committed to strengthening organizations that serve their communities and advance equity. As a Hmong American and daughter of refugees from Laos, her commitment to this work is deeply rooted in her family’s journey and the resilience of generations who rebuilt their lives after displacement.

Karey holds a B.S. in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration from California State University, Fresno, and is a Certified Municipal Clerk. Outside of work, Karey enjoys traveling abroad with her partner, Ryan; spending time with her cats, Min and Pip; and playing volleyball, pickleball, and softball.
