Director of Finance and Operations

For Wing, operations has never been separate from mission—it is mission work. She brings over 17 years of experience building financial and operational infrastructure across tech, finance, philanthropy, and civil rights. Throughout her career, she has focused on a singular question: how can systems and processes actively serve, rather than work against, the values an organization claims to hold?

Before joining AAPIP, Wing founded and led Beyond Transactions, a strategic operations consulting practice built on the conviction that a nonprofit’s financial controls, HR, and technology should reflect its values, not just compliance rules. Through this practice, she served as the interim Chief Operating Officer for Mother’s Outreach Network.

Prior to that, she spent nearly a decade at Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO), where she redesigned operational practices to center equity. She is widely recognized for making financial systems feel transparent and approachable rather than restrictive. In 2024, recognizing that operations professionals in philanthropy often work in isolation, she co-founded the Equitable Operations Peer Community—a rapidly growing network of over 500 practitioners who share resources to build non-transactional infrastructure. Wing began her career with formative operations roles across the tech, finance, and design industries.

Of Cantonese American heritage, Wing is deeply passionate about building community within the Cantonese diaspora and keeping the language and culture alive for the next generation. She carries this directly into her work at AAPIP, viewing infrastructure-building and community-building as two sides of the same effort to expand and mobilize resources for AANHPI communities.

Wing holds a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Public Policy, from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is fluent in Cantonese and conversational in Mandarin and Japanese. Outside of work, she is a mother, an amateur potter, and enjoys exploring the DC area with her partner, daughter, and their beagle.
